Hey there, I'm Hilary

 

I've written about fitness for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and NatGeo, among others. I've been lifting weights for more than 15 years, and I love teaching midlife women about strength training.

FAQs

Q: I've never lifted weights before, can I train with you?
A: Yes! I work with both beginners and people who've strength trained in the past. I'll meet you where you are!

Q: What equipment do I need?
A: You need at least three sets of dumbbells or some kettlebells to start. (Or a gym membership.) When we have our initial consult I'll help you decide exactly which weights to buy if you don't own any. You can also look into adjustable dumbbells!

Q: How much time per week will this take?
A: The strength training sessions only take about 20 minutes, three times a week. I program many full body lifts so it's extremely efficient.

Q: How do I know if I'm lifting correctly if this is remote?
A: I send you videos for each lift demonstrating the form, and then you record yourself lifting so I can give you feedback. The lifts I teach are very easy to learn, so you will pick them up quickly!
